As well as a legal requirement that every employer provides adequate training for their staff, an emergency first aid course allows you the opportunity to prevent minor injuries and accidents from becoming critical issues. From both a health and safety perspective, as well as an economic one, this provision ensures a happier working environment – not to mention the morale boost that comes from workers knowing their employer cares for their wellbeing.
Can you tell me about the course?
It is the obligation of an employer to risk assess their workplace first aid requirements, allowing them to better understand what support and training they need in order to create a safe and comfortable working environment. Obtaining the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification (EFAW) is one element of this obligation. This course helps you to achieve that qualification and is best suited to those who typically work in a small, low-risk environment.
The length of this course is one day (6 hours), providing the most effective training in the shortest possible time. Whilst our one day emergency first aid course typically runs from 9.00am-4.15pm, we recognise the importance of flexibility and will work with you to accommodate your business’ particular needs.
Who should attend?
In addition to situations where more first aiders are required to support existing first-aid-at-work-trained staff, this one day emergency first aid course is best suited to those working in lower risk environments. A ‘lower risk environment’ is typically one that is considered to be low hazard with less than 50 employees. If your business falls into one of the following categories, it’s likely that the one day emergency first aid course will suit your needs:
- Teachers and school ancillary staff
- Retail shops
- Small offices
- Local community organisations
Where can I attend?
As mentioned above, we believe that flexibility is crucial when it comes to delivering quality training. With this in mind, we work to suit your individual needs – whether that’s delivering on-site training or working with you to identify a suitable location in Derby.
