Whilst some accidents in the workplace can’t be prevented, many could be by simply having a better understanding of health and safety practices. The benefits of such an awareness are vast; from protecting your staff and their wellbeing, to reducing absenteeism and meeting mandatory employer requirements.

Can you tell me about the course?

For many businesses and organisations, a qualification in health and safety is rapidly becoming a standard regulation – and, given the impact that not having an awareness of health and safety can do to your business, it’s crucial to not get left behind. Our 1 day health and safety training course is designed to provide individuals with a comprehensive knowledge of health and safety in the workplace. Covering a broad range of topics – from prevention to treatment – the qualification is an internationally recognised certification for employees and focuses on creating a safe environment for the individual, as well as others.

Who should attend?

As this is a Level 2 course, it would be most suited to those businesses and organisations that require a more in-depth and comprehensive understanding of health and safety. They most likely work in a larger organisation and are, therefore, at risk of more accident types. It is ideal for those who are looking for an accredited course that suits both public and private businesses.

Where can I attend?

The course can be delivered either on- or off-site, depending on your individual preferences. Most businesses choose to receive the training on-site as not only is it more convenient (especially if there are several people undergoing the training), but it is also more cost-effective as the need for transportation and/or accommodation is eliminated. A familiar and comfortable environment can also support better learning.

What will I get from this course?

The course combines classroom theory with practical workshop sessions to ensure a well-balanced understanding of both elements. More specifically, the following topics are covered:

  • Health and safety legislation
  • Risk assessment
  • Health, safety and welfare
  • Work equipment
  • Hazardous substances
  • Ergonomic and workstation design
  • Manual handling
  • Noise

How will I be assessed?

At the end of the course, you will be required to sit an exam with multiple choice questions.

Will I become certified?

Yes, upon successfully passing the exam, you will become certified in Health and Safety in the Workplace. You will then be awarded a certificate that is valid for three years, however, we recommend that you refresh your knowledge annually.
